017 - video
Now that everyone has hopefully had enough time to recover from the events regarding those tunnels and the mysterious creature within...
I have been thinking about that quite a bit, I must confess. Isn't it intriguing that, even in a world so developed and known as this, there are still mysteries spread throughout it?
Species we are not familiar with. Legendaries that evade all attempts to be known. Macaroni and cheese boxes which boast about their cheesiness and which yet contain no packet.
[One of these things is not like the other.]
So, my question to others in our predicament is... What mysteries have held your attention, whether in this place, or your homelands?
For myself, personally, I have ended up stumbling onto the answers of many practical matters. Medicine, food, things of that nature. It is still incredible to me how Johto and Kanto manage to handle it all so readiliy, to the point that even travelers such as ourselves can live comfortably with some effort.
Yet I wonder more about these Legendaries as well, and what an interesting presence they possess....

However, one of those mysteries haunts his dreams far more than any other.]
The ledges. The gods-forsaken ledges. My dearest friend can literally leap over buildings; despite that, he was unable to bypass them during his stay. Yet we can fly over them, which means they do not emit some sort of invisible wall reaching for the skies. So how do they work?
[And then, after a beat–]
Ask for a refund on those boxes. You've not received the product you were promised, after all.
[video]
I wonder what the height is, or if it is only flight which they are helpless with?
[Fun things to ponder!]
And ah, as for the boxes, it is truly a trivial matter, honestly. I imagine they cost little in the grand whole of it, and Dedue often makes a different cheese sauce to go over it. We are hardly lacking for such.

Go back to the macaroni boxes. What do you mean they don't have any packets...?

Oh, Shiro! Yes, for a whilee, I was able to find macaroni boxes in their natural state - or at least I presumed it was natural, with the cheese packets being within them, nestled securely amongst the macaroni itself.
And yet, for some time now, they have been strangely absent, no matter what store I buy them from!

We don't really talk about it, because we didn't want to seem ungrateful for it. But I do still wonder about it sometimes.
[Video]
[Crests, after all, feel much the same.]
It is a shame that you felt you could not speak freely of it. One can be grateful, and yet still curious.

[This is said in a tone that suggests that he doesn't want to get too far into this topic. Must be sensitive for Ryou these days.
What comes next, however, is in a much more cheerful tone.
You just activated his trap card, so to speak.]Right now I'm interested in the Ghost type. They all have different origins, with some that were supposedly human in their past lives, like Yamask, and some that were supposedly other kinds of Pokémon before, like how Hisuian Zorua were once Unovan Zorua that came back as vengeful ghosts. Some are even haunted items, like how Spiritomb is tied to its keystone and Sinistea is a haunted teacup.
I want to try and meet as many different Ghost types as possible while I'm here. I know there's risks to it, but...
[...But he's always been interested in the creepy and occult.]
video
I... see.
[Meanwhile, this is Dimitri's sensitive topic, leaving him feel more than a little awkward. It sounds as though there is a pure and innocent interest in ghosts, which is - good. He supposes. Like Mercedes. Mercedes liked ghost stories.]
[It's... just... like that...]
Which ones have you met, then...?

[
He understands nothing.]Ah, my friend, Doppio! I am glad you are doing well. But yes, I suppose so. Who would not be? They are fascinating entities. And I do not even wish to fight all of them!

That and trying to find some good cactus Pokémon in Jotho or Kanto. I don’t think that I haven’t seen any since I got here.
Video;
[If he had to guess, anyway.]
As for cactus... Are you sure there is none? I could have swore I spotted such which Grant explained were like a cactus to me, once...

Ah, well - are you familiar with the blue boxes of macaroni and cheese? Most of the time, the macaroni itself has a small curved shape, but there are others done in simplified shapes of various Paliens! I am quite fond of them.
However, while I used to be able to come across the boxes as they were, with small pockets of powdered cheese inside... For some time now, there have been none!
It is quite a mystery.

audio;
There is a beauty in how much remains mysterious, and yet, so much that can be discovered. It is... quite different to the mysteries I helped look into back home.
audio;
What were the mysteries you looked into back home, if I may ask?

But perhaps that's more existential and heavy a mystery than you were thinking of. But I've stopped pondering the mysteries of this world, it only ever gave me a headache and further questions.
Video
As for a soul... That is a question I suppose many end up pondering, at one point or another. It is a soul which shows we are alive, I suppose... But that is not nearly detailed enough, is it? It explains the function, but only that alone, and, even then, it is only a guess for the function.

There was a whole big mystery back home, though erh, I'm not sure how easily I can describe it. [He paused, then inhaled.] But, no sense in not trying!
So there's a big pool in the middle of the Great Hall of my home, Fraggle Rock. There was a small rockfall in one cave and it redirected a different water flow, which brought a huge waterfall to the hall, which was great! Only, then we discovered that the water had come from Craggle Lagoon, draining it completely. And THEN the pool started getting contaminated with this weird goop that had come from the Doozers, little critters that build structures in the caves. It started making the Merggles sick because it was polluting the water they swim in, and it got so thick and so bad that we Fraggles couldn't use it either.
So not only did we have to figure out how to help the Craggles and return their water to them, we also had to figure out how to remove the goop from the water and heal the Merggles, and return the Great Hall to its normal flow.
It... did not go well for a while there.
[Video]
[Dimitri, at any rate, is far more interested in listening to the retelling of events going on here. It's all a great deal of new words, but, well, he thinks he can understand for the most part if he doesn't linger on the details for too long. A lake got a new water source, but the water source affected both a place and its people negatively because of different creatures, and it became a problem.]
[Simplify it down, and such things are easy to understand.]
I see... Indeed, it sounds as though it were quite a trial! I hope that everything ended well?
