Romelle nodded.

"That's fair," she said. "It's not always pleasant to watch them go through it, even if they seem to want to. Have any of yours ever expressed an interest in fighting?"

"It's good that there are other things to do for people who don't want to battle." Romelle definitely appreciated that.

"Games?" Romelle was curious. This wasn't something she knew much about. They didn't exactly have video games on the colony.

"Oh!" Romelle looked surprised at that. "That's actually really interesting. I think someone mentioned that about something else here, too." Her expression turned thoughtful. "There's a group of people here that Keith and Shiro have mentioned as being from some fictional universe back home for us. I... I really don't know who they are. The story is from their home planet, not mine. But, I'm wondering if that means other realities and worlds might have fictional versions of ones that exist elsewhere."

Really, with all the things Romelle had learned since leaving the colony about how the universe and reality seemed to work, she wouldn't be surprised at all if that were the case.

"Um..." Romelle frowned a bit as she tried to remember. "It was a very simple name... something about a battle in space?"

"Yes! That's it!" Romelle smiled a little. "A few of my friends from back home know that one." She, however, did not.

"Shiro has told me I should watch it some day, but I cannot seem to find it here." She frowned a little. "I supposed perhaps it might be because they have people from that reality here."

"Yes... I've seen that, too." Well, more like... "I mean, you know... things here that are similar to what I have back home where I'm from. Clearly I wouldn't know what... you know, what's from your reality. I've never been there!"

"Oh, yes! Mostly the technology aspect of things," Romelle explained. "The gears having video communication on them is something I'm used to, but I know some other people here aren't quite as familiar with that. And just even having a tiny handheld thing you can use as a computer is similar to some of the things we have." Well... "I mean, that some people have. We didn't have a lot on the colony. There were a lot of reasons for that, but, once I was away from the colony, there was a lot out there that I had to learn."

Romelle nodded a bit.

"Yes, there are some planets in my reality that don't have advanced technology like that, yet, either."

She considered the question for a moment.

"I do," she said. "To some extent. The colony was familiar, obviously, but I've learned so much being away from there... things about even my own people and history that I didn't know before. It opened me up to so much more than just what we were isolated and held to." She looked at her hands. "We weren't allowed to leave, you see. We were told we had to stay in the colony, hidden from any of the other races, especially the Galra. Otherwise, we'd be hunted down and killed.

"I do believe that. It was a difficult time, and the original Alteans on the colony had been in hiding after our planet had been destroyed. The colony was a safe space... a sanctuary... somewhere we could stay and live without fear of showing our true selves." But she shook her head. "Still, we were tricked. It was a glorified prison, even if it was 'safe'. And, even then, it really wasn't. We were being bred and farmed."

"I am, too... It took some time once I did. Keith and his mother found the colony, and I went with them when they left. We couldn't take everyone, and it was safer for Keith and Krolia not to have anyone discover them." Romelle sighed. "A lot of the others on the colony were blindly following Lotor's rules and believed he had saved all of us. They saw him almost as some kind holy figure, I think." She shook her head. "To have two people come in and offer to take people off the colony, especially when they were Galra, it would have been too much, and they might have been danger to stay.

"But, they felt it was important to bring someone back with them. They wanted me to meet Allura and Coran, and to help with Voltron and the Coalition they were forming. And they needed to prove that Lotor was double-crossing everyone. So, I went.

"I was so scared... but it was important in order to save the other Alteans from what Lotor was doing. I didn't even know just how bad everything was until after I had gone with them. We found the alternate colony, where everyone was being drained of their quintessence. From there, we took that proof back to Team Voltron. And it took us a long time to be able to go back and help the other Alteans after that. But we're doing it. When I was brought here, we were traveling through space again, tracking down Honerva and where she'd taken the Alteans from the colony after she found them."

"We found a shuttle," she said. "It was something that my brother had found, but it was so old that no one who currently lived on the colony knew how to fly it anymore." Ten thousand years, even among a race of long-lived people, was still a few generations. "So, they didn't even pay attention to it. Keith knew it, though, and we took it and left."

She nodded. "It... it was horrible. I knew some of those people. My brother had escaped from there, but... it had been too late for him. He didn't make it." She took a deep breath. "I'm glad we found them, too, though, and I'm glad Keith and Krolia brought me to the Castle of Lions. Hopefully, our efforts to help the rest of the Alteans will work." After all, they hadn't quite finished that, yet, when she'd been brought to Pokémon World.

"It's true," Romelle said, "but it's also hard work sometimes. Especially when you're up against something monumentally larger than you."
