Bo-Katan was casually walking the streets. Looking very much like her usual self. Her helmet held under one arm as she went, and a bag slung over her shoulder. That Miraidon was following her too, and she glanced back at the creature.

Which caused her not to notice the tiny child until he was clinging to her leg. Looking down, Bo’s eyes widened as she saw a very familiar little boy, her breath leaving her in a gasp.

“Grogu?” Dropping everything, she then stooped down to pick him up. Looking up just in time to see a familiar Mandalorian. Her expression becoming more schooled as she nodded politely. “Mando.”

Holding Grogu to her, Bo’s brows now furrow slightly in her own confusion. Everyone here knew him as Mando, even his kids and boyfriend. Admittedly she hated calling him that and often still called him Din. But recently she decided she should call him what everyone else knew him as. So when he corrects her it’s reason for surprise.

Looking down at Grogu, she then looks back to Din.

“You actually want me to call you that?”

He had never told her not to, but he’s not encouraged it either.

Bo-Katan just stares for several moments. Unsure what to make of this. The fact that Grogu was here, and Din was wanting her to call him by his given name, made something well up inside her. Hope perhaps? But she dared not let it get too far. Not yet.

She then breathes in, not answering his question as to whether she’s all right. Instead asking one of her own. Something only he would know if… he remembered.

“That night on the Langskib. What did you say to me?”

Once he says that she lets out the breath she had been holding in. Seemingly frozen in place as she tried to process all the emotions that were suddenly hitting her. Holding Grogu to her just a little tighter as if making sure he was real, that all of this was real.

Her voice a little choked when she finally speaks. “You remember.”

The way he says that clues Bo in on a few things. Not only does he remember, but he comes from around the same time she was. On top of that, did that mean he didn’t remember any of his time here? That last part leaves her conflicted but she pushes those feelings aside for now.

Still holding Grogu she closes the distance between her and Din. The Din she has come to know. Emotion glimmering in her eyes as she struggled to find words.

“I… I’ve been here for nearly 3 months, Din. You have been here for two years and… you didn’t remember anything past your trip to Tatooine. To meet with Boba Fett.”

Well that answers her questions. This isn't the same Din that she's been interacting with since she arrived in this world. This is the one she's more familiar with. The one without two years worth of memories in this place and missing the last several months they spent together back home.

While it brought some relief, other questions were swimming around in her head. Had the other Din been replaced by him or... were there now two here? She wasn't going to focus on that at the moment though. Instead she answers his question after a bit of a pause. Because its a loaded one for sure.

"It's peaceful, and has taken some getting used to."

She can't say this world has treated her badly exactly. Bo-Katan isn't really happy here though, and that might convey with the weary tone and look on her face. Though she's not entirely used to it either. Not in the way the Din who had been here for two years was.
