Why not buy particular candies that are unfamiliar to you? Not in large quantities, mind, but enough so that you can experience something new.
That ought to keep your Pokemon entertained as well, if they are the ones insisting on the sweets.

Well, not that I can say any different - so many confections in this world are much different from what is available in the stores and stalls where I come from.
I imagine the preparation methods must be different as well.
Perhaps there's a single...category you can focus on? Chocolates, or hard candies, or chewy kinds...?
