Yeah. I've got a huge family back home. I run a motorcycle gang and we're all brothers.

They see me as a kind of father figure. I looked after a lot of them in their latter teen years.

(Harry is not certain if he should mention his very nasty maternal relatives right now, but he is not going to give the anon poster some emotional angst by not mentioning the more terrible stuff between him and Vernon and Petunia. So he does go anon for this post as well.)

Oh yeah. I have seen plenty of them a while ago in Cianwood City and they do seem to like sticking by each other’s side a lot. And I think that I might have caught one pair too.

I do have family from my Mum’s side back at home but I’m not very close to them, I’m afraid. They were supposed to be my guardians after my parents died yet we didn’t have a great relationship with each other. I do however have several people who became a second family to me and I have stronger emotional ties with them than with my aunt and uncle.

I'm sorry to hear that. Were they unkind to you?

At the very least, I'm glad to hear you found people who could take their place.

Yeah, I think that they aren’t exactly the nicest people around. My uncle’s sister, my other aunt, was just as rude and unpleasant as it can get.

Thanks anon. I am really glad that I was able to find better people who can be better role models for me than my relatives would ever be.

A trickier question than one would think. I tend to agree with your first remark. It must be nice to have something so stable.

Stability is elusive and yet comes so easily to some.

While my family is not by blood, I have one. Most of them are scholars and experts in their field - but you wouldn't know that by how they acted.

How did you find this family?

Growing up, it was just me and my grandfather. But once I met Eren and Mikasa, they became like family to me.

These are friends of yours?

My best friends, yes. And my first friends. The three of us went through a lot together.

I miss him a lot... I was separated from him even before I ended up here, after all.

I had my parents and a younger sister back home. My father wasn't really around much, he's busy with his work and I chose to move out on my own to attend my chosen high school, but my mom and Amane...they were around.

...I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I write letters to my mom and Amane. I know I can't send them, but it helps.

Ha, yeah. It's interesting; I've seen Pokemon move around in family units before, but not quite so closely-knit as these.

I, uh... I have a kid. Chip. They'd be, uh, 13 at the end of this month; they're pretty shy with people they don't know well, but they're... they're an absolute force for chaos when they're comfortable somewhere. They absolutely love animals, too; they used to be here, and they just... really thrived.

I don't have any children of my own, so I can't relate with being a parent. But Chip sounds like a wonderful child. I would have liked to have met them.

My family is all gone. They died many years ago. I thought I might have found a new one, but they've left. It seems the feelings may not have been mutual.

You have many regrets. I can relate with that.

Considering we can be here and then not at any point, that does make it hard to settle down. Yet I've noticed some have.
