I'm - forgive me, I know there was only just that recent announcement, but-
[The redheaded man on the Network today looks. Well, he's practically vibrating where he's sitting, a gleam in his eyes as he fumbles for a notebook in his supplied backpack. He's not even looking where his hand goes, he's just blindly reaching for the darned thing.]
You mean to tell me the birds that have been sighted recently are a revived extinct species? I - this is - how ever did they return? Have they been in hiding all this time? What-
[Oh my God, G'raha, breathe you ridiculous man.]
Where can I find out more about other extinct species? If one is making a resurgence, perhaps it might be prudent to investigate if other pockets of their population might still be thriving as well, would it not? Perhaps they might not all be as dangerous as those Braviary were, yes?
[He is just so excited, as if the white foxes who impersonated a whole human being in Lance's broadcast has completely gone over his head.]
What role could they have played in society? What strengths did they have? Why not record them for posterity in...in what we know as present-day ruins, for example? Were they once so common that no one thought to do so? And if there's anywhere out in the field where one might find clues to such things, please - do not hesitate to share your findings! I shall happily share my own-
[It seems like he's about to go into another bit of rambling before the 'gear slips from his hand and shuts off. This is what you get for not paying attention and trying to do two things at once, my dude.]

Have you heard about Fossil pokemon yet? They have developed a technique here where extinct pokemon can actually be revived from fossils. It's incredible. Pokemon who lived millions of years ago can now live again.
[Armin has been walking as he's talking, until he finally comes to a stop, raising his camera to focus it on a massive water tank. Inside, G'raha Tia should be able to see several pokemon living a very content life -- a Tirtouga lazily swimming through the water, a massive Cradily waving her 'petals' in the current, a Kabuto scurrying along the bottom. There might be others too. It's seriously a massive tank, and the camera only shows a small part of it.]
I own a few aquatic ones, but I know there are several terrestrial species too.
Armin, you've made him drop the Poke'gear again.]
Where might I come to observe these species?
O-oh, well, this is the Aquarium in my gym. You cannot find pokemon like these in the wild, but my gym is always open to people who want to come see them. It is on the Sevii island, but if you were to come visit here, you could also visit the fossil excavation site and obtain a fossil pokemon of your own.

[Cecil's smile as he speaks of it is very much the result of a combination of nostalgia blurring his memories and rose-tinted glasses. Perhaps that's why he moves on quickly.]
That did not last, unfortunately, which means we've had few opportunities to see how they act in the wild. With any luck, these birds will share their secrets more freely, should they choose to make Johto and Kanto their permanent home.
Pray, is there no longer any way to encounter those creatures? I - after this, I - if time allows, surely I would like to...
[Reflexively, he winces; no amount of nostalgia can fully erase the memory of the Grimer Projectile Incident.]
I've a few more fossil Pokémon in my team, but those two are the only ones from the initial swarm.

Okay, yeah, this is pretty cool and all, but is it really for real? I mean, those naughty-naughty little foxes were totally impersonating that guy making the announcement. Can we really trust that anything they said is what he was actually going to say?
[He assumes it was, but it still seems to him that it needs to be questioned a bit, under the circumstances.]

[He shakes himself out of it after a moment.]
Sorry, not the point. I think I'm too new to know too much about extinct Pokemon, but I do know that lorekeepers, history books and the like can generally be a source for this sorta thing. [He pauses, thinking outloud more than answering this.] I know who we saw was a copy, but I guess anyway they come from a whole other part of the world? I don't think there's a way to get there yet, but maybe there's records of these Pokemon there, and those can be sent to somewhere here.
[And for the second time in a single reply, Gobo blinks back into focus.]
Anyway! I know I'm gonna keep an eye out for these while I travel around. Finding whole new critters are as much a part of exploring as carving new paths!

["A bit", he says. Where he comes from, that neck tattoo is basically just slapping your PhD on your face.]
Perhaps inter-library loans aren't too arduous a request...I shall keep that in mind for further research, thank you. If these birds did once originate from this "Sinnoh", then records about them would obviously be kept there, wouldn't they?

[Sometimes a book might be all you have.]
But then I suppose there is no easy way to travel to this "Sinnoh" ourselves?

[Oh no, here's grandpa piss to rain on your nerdly parade, G'raha.]

Really? I don't much see it as ironic. More an inevitability. Anyone would want to seek out answers to what it is that sets them apart from their fellows, and if that happened to be an empire from centuries ago, there would naturally be an interest. Everything else just seems to fall into that, erm, niche.
From what I gather, there seem to be some number of ancient Pokemon that have resurfaced in more recent times. Or, I suppose, been revived? This place has accomplished some truly incredible things.
That said, while I cannot offer much about Braviary in particular, I would love to hear anything more you learn about them. The return of extinct species is certainly a fascinating topic, however... relatively common it may be here.
[Or, well, potentially a bit dangerous. He's seen things brought to the present from the distant past and how dangerous they can be.]
And I dearly hope that such birds find it within them to make a home in this time, rather than wreak further havoc.
action 'cuz they can cheat ha ha ha
[Eventually, once things have calmed down enough to interject, they speak up.]
I think I saw one of the smaller ones still flying about on one of the routes just out of town. We could try to track it down to observe, if you like?
d'aww
[He'd been so absorbed in taking notes about fossils being brought back to life that he totally forgot he wasn't alone. At least he doesn't jump comically when G'rhyf calls out to him?]
Truly? Do you think - there was an emphasis placed on caution if approaching one, will we be alright?
no subject
It's just the bigger ones that are especially aggressive, right? So long as we keep our distance, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
[Ignoring the fact that in a few hours G'rhyf is going to sign up to fucking bearhug one of the Alphas like an absolute dumbass--]

Then...alright, then, yes! Absolutely. Let me just get my things together and we can set out at once - oh, but, there is also another place we should see together? Not right now, of course, but later, there are revived ancient specimens we can observe! It could be like - like when we went to the ruins?
[Like a date]
