video (on the road)
[The camera is focused on a little purple bird who's currently doing a fan dance as someone off to the side strums on a guitar and sings:]
Bright sunny day don't cost nothing
Light winter breeze don't cost nothing
What do I do with all this money?
When the only thing I want is you
[Slowly the camera pans to show Greg as the mysterious guitarist, with a floating rock and a green jellyfish ghost on either side of him bobbing along to the music, before panning back to the little purple bird again.]
Palling around don't cost nothing
Singing a song don't cost nothing
How do I spend all this money?
I'd rather just spend time with you
[The strumming continues even if the singing doesn't--which means the little bird keeps moving even as offscreen Greg says,]
I've been calling him Tiny Dancer. The little guy flew down when I was playing my new guitar in Lavender Town and started dancing, just like that. He's been hanging around ever since.

Wow, your routine is really good, Greg! Glad to see that you're already making friends.
...I've also been working on my own musical skills a little bit while I'm on the road. Not to brag, but I've gotten pre-tty good at them.

...it's doubtful, though. Anyways, we've been meaning to throw some bars IRL for a while now, this would be the perfect opportunity.

Is he a good kid, though?

He's a bit older than me, actually! Dirk can be a little intense sometimes, but he's fun to hang out and talk with. I think we'll actually be en route to meet him once I join up with the caravan.

Still, that's cool. The more the merrier! I look forward to meeting him.
sudden switch to private connection
Intense.

[Technically he already knows Carly. But he doesn't know that.]

[Greg is new, so Armin feels pointing out cool little pokemon facts is helpful.]
Re: Video;
[Are any of them disco?]

[Oh no, Greg. You've done it. You've unleashed The Nerd.]
I have to admit I don't quite know how to works on a molecular or genetic level as it seems there is still a lot of pending research in those areas --
[But, let me tell you, Armin is privately very proud that he now knows concepts like Genetics and Molecules. None of this stuff is known back home. If only he could tell Hange about it all.]
but, in essence, all though Oricorio doesn't evolve, it does have four different so-called forms or styles. They can switch freely between the forms on consuming a certain type of nectar. And when they do, not only does their appearance and dance style change, so does their typing.
For example, the form you have right now is called the Sensu form. In addition to flying, its typing is Ghost. Supposedly, through their refined way of dancing, they are able to communicate with the spirits of the deceased. Admittedly, that part might be more superstition than fact, but I don't think anyone can deny its elegance. I own one myself, and she's a very proud pokemon. I don't think I've ever seen her with any feather out of place.
If Tiny Dancer were to consume the nectar of a certain type of red flower, he'd change into a Baile form Oricorio. These are extremely passionate, both in spirit and dancing, which might be a result of their new Fire typing. My Noctowl's mate was a Baily style Oricorio, and let me tell you, though she was small, she had ways of making sure everybody knew exactly what she wanted.
Upon consuming nectar of a related type of pink flower, he'd transform into a Pa'u style oricorio which has a psychic typing. Apparently, their style of dancing involves more swaying, gentle elements. Unfortunately, I don't have any personal experience with this style, so I don't know as much about it as the others.
Finally, if he'd consume the nectar of the yellow flower, he'd transform into an electric from known as the Pom-pom style Oricorio. They generate electricity by rubbing their feathers together energetically. This form is characterised by its high-energy, pumped-up style of dancing. It's said they really don't like seeing people sad and they will dance for them until they are cheerful again. Though, uh, I know some of them do have a tendency to deliver one of their electric punches if people don't cheer up quick enough, but that's more of a personal disposition thing than a species-wide thing.
Each form is called after the different islands they were first discovered on. From what I can tell, these islands are fairly similar, but they do have unique elements which led Oricorio to adapt in this way.
Re: Video;
[That's a lot to take in. Good thing the gear has a recording function. He'll probably have to review this later.]
I dunno if Tiny Dancer would want to try any of those others, but I can ask him later. Maybe he would! Do you know where you get nectar?

Re: Video;
I'll keep it in mind if we ever go anywhere with the other color birds.

[Rose didn't even need to respond on the gear, she's in the same camp, but it's become a habit.]
Re: Video
[He's grinning at her in real life even as he replies over the gear.]

Re: Video
Video (sorry this is so late!)
Well, if he decided to stay with you, he probably wouldn't mind that.
Re: Video (sorry this is so late!)
Do you have a little guy like him?

[And because his name was mentioned, Biellmann pokes his head in and honks in greeting.]
Re: Video

[She's trying to sound a lot happier about this whole ordeal than she feels.]
Surprise vacation don't cost nothing
Meeting new faces don't cost nothing
What do I do with all these options
When I can just hang out with you?
Re: video
I guess this time we couldn't have done it at home.
[In the tune of Steven's bit in the original song:]
We can see old loves that we lost.
no subject
That's what we'd all like, as long as you don't mind the hike.
We could catch strange new... creatures...
[She gestures vaguely, still not taken by the idea.]

But they're in these balls all the time!
[Greg's aren't, but details.]

[She laughs, the last line not being sung like the others.]
Sorry, this is the transitional part of the song and I don't know where to go from here.

[Next time they'll make up something new.
Once she's more settled in and less a bundle of nerves, perhaps.]
Did the guitar come with you or did you get it here?
